Rik Melissant (1999) studied organ with Paul Kieviet (Middelharnis, Netherlands) from the age of 12 until the summer of 2018.

Since March 2017 he has had lessons from Ben van Oosten (The Hague, Netherlands). In addition he had lessons in improvisation from Sander van den Houten (The Hague, Netherlands).

Rik Melissant won the first prize at numerous concourses, including the first International Ambitus Organ Concourse (Haarlem June 2017, Netherlands) and the second International Ambitus Organ Concourse (Rotterdam September 2019, Netherlands). He has also followed numerous masterclasses by Arjen Leistra (Schiedam, Netherlands) and Maurice Clement (Diekirch, Luxembourg). To prepare for various competitions, Rik took classes with Adriaan Hoek (Krimpen aan den IJssel, Netherlands). In the summer of 2018 and 2019 he received private masterclasses from Thomas Ospital (Paris, France).

Since September 2018 Rik is studying at the Rotterdam Conservatoire (Codarts) with an organ major and a piano minor. The tutors for his major are Ben van Oosten and Bas de Vroome (Delft, Netherlands). For his minor his tutors are Martin Lekkerkerk and Sara Gutiérrez Redondo.
